Idaho supports evolution education! Two resources:
First, a new website thisviewoflive.org
TVoL is intended to present the topic of evolution in a scientifically accurate manner that avoids technical language, but that also avoids potentially misleading colloquial language. It strives to be accessible to the non-scientist and so it represents a general outline, merely scratching the surface of the large body of research in the many facets of evolutionary theory. Complementing the text are several Flash "illustrations" explaining some topics in more detail. And for those wanting an even "closer view," each topic also includes links to suggested readings.
Second, a special event:
Darwin Day Speaker at Idaho State University
FREE and OPEN to the PUBLIC. On Thursday, February 14th 2008 Biology Graduate Students will host Dr. May Berenbaum, Chair of the Department of Entomology, University of Illinois as this year's Darwin
Day Speaker. Her talk, entitled "Parsnip Webworms and Wild Parsnips:
When Interactions Go International" (with an emphasis on microevolution) is scheduled for 6:00 pm in Lecture Center 10.
Plenty of parking nearby. LC 10 is located on upper campus, between the Gale Life Sciences building and the outdoor football practice field by Holt Arena.
